Asbestos Management Plans
If you are responsible for maintenance or repair of premises (pre 2000) you must have an 'Asbestos Management Plan'.
You should collect any information that you have and remember that old asbestos survey reports may be out of date or inaccurate.
Each asbestos containing material should have a material score and priority score which help prioritise any actions.
Use all the information to prioritise any actions and write your Asbestos Management Plan. The plan must say who is responsible for what.
Asbestos Management Plans must be completed by the duty holder as they have site based knowledge and a good knowledge of the building and work activities. The task in reality can be quite daunting and is usual for a duty holder to put a plan together with the help of a competent asbestos management consultant.
